PENETRAN YARALANMALARDA KONTRALATERAL HEMOTORAKS

Hemotoraks, intraplevral boşlukta kan birikmesidir ve hayatı tehdit eden klinik tablolardan biridir. Hemotoraksa neden olan en sık etiyolojik faktör travmadır. Çoğunlukla travmanın erken döneminde görülürken nadiren geç dönemde de gelişebilir. Kırk bir yaşında bayan hasta, sırtın sol tarafından kesici delici alet yaralanması sonrası kliniğimize başvurdu. Sağda plevral sıvı saptanması üzerine torasentez yapıldı ve hemotoraks tanısı alan hastaya tüp torakostomi uygulandı. Ek cerrahi müdahaleye gerek duyulmayan hasta, drenajı 3. günde sonlandırılarak eksterne edildi. Bu sunumda, sol penetran toraks travması sonrası sağ hemotoraks gelişen bir olgu incelenmiş ve penetran toraks travmalarında kontralateral hemotoraks gelişebileceği , her iki hemitoraksın da yaralanabileceğinin vurgulanması amaçlanmıştır.

CONTRALATERAL HEMOTHORAX IN PENETRATING INJURIES

Hemothorax is accumulation of blood in the intrapleural space and is one of the life-threatening clinical pictures. The most common etiological factor causing hemothorax is trauma. It is mostly seen in the early trauma period; however, it may also develop rarely in the late period. A 41-year-old female patient presented to our department with a sharp object injury on the left side of the back. Thorasentesis was performed due to pleural fluid on the right, and the patient underwent tube thoracostomy due to hemothorax.without additional surgical intervention , the patient was discharged after the drainage was terminated on the 3rd day. In this presentation, a case of right hemothorax developing after penetrating trauma in the left chest was examined, and it was aimed to emphasize that contralateral hemothorax could develop in penetrating thoracic trauma and both hemithorax could be injured.
